Minor girl kidnapped for forceful conversion in Bangladesh

On January 28, 2020, with the assistance from the O.C. of Phulpur Police station, she was found and rescued. The Judicial Magistrate later released her to her parent’s custody after her rescue. “I was tortured. I was kidnapped by Mohammed Firoz Ahmed (aged 20). I want to return to my parents,” the victims stated. Mohammed Firoz Ahmed Akash has been captured and sent to jail. Previously, on January 18, 2020, Anjoli Rani Biswas (15) was kidnapped by Mohammed Firoz Ahmed from the area of Phulpur Police Station in Mymensingh, Bangladesh. She was in the 10th standard when she was kidnapped. Upon the incident, on January 18, 2020, Mohammed Firoz Ahmed Akash and others in the community were trying to kidnap more girls from the minority Hindu community to convert them to Islam. The parents of the victim sought support from Bangladesh Minority Watch (BDMW).
