WHY INDEPENDENT MEDIA ?

For true democracy to work, people need easy access to independent, diverse sources of news and information. When it’s all said and done you can come to a full balanced decision on your own, whatever it may be. When You’ve been exposed to news from all over the spectrum, you have a fully formed more developed sense of perspective. You’ll have all angles of the debate and story.

In recent days we have witnessed unprecedented corporate media consolidation. In the early 80′s: about fifty media conglomerates dominated all media outlets, including television, radio, newspapers, magazines, music, publishing and film. In the year 2000, that number dropped down to six corporations.

Did you know U.S. “public” media outlets accept funding from major corporations, as well as from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which has attempted in the past to exert political and editorial influence on public news producers.

PURPOSE

Knowledge is power- and uncomfortable material shouldn’t be swept under the rug. This sight’s built to provide a wake up call to those who seek to expand their grasp on what is going on today. We have to make a choice and recognize our obligation to contribute in any way we can to help create a better way of life not only for our fellow man but any and all living beings. To do what we can to make a better world not only for our children, but our children’s children.

With News-Now there is no story that is off limits to us! It’s in our constitution. Although this site does not in any way, shape or form, implied or otherwise, necessarily express or suggest endorsement or support of any of such posted materials or parts therein, we feel these diverse voices should be heard.

We must defend the dwindling rights we have. Freedom of information is worth vigilance!
